Through a Memorandum of Agreement, Cardinal Santos Medical Center (CSMC) has formalized its partnership with University of the Philippines (UP) Manila to help bolster CSMC’s research capabilities and governance framework, and enhance the individual competencies of the hospital’s researchers to develop, implement, and translate evidence-based research that are aligned with institutional and national health priorities.
A two-year program has been designed for members of the research and ethics committees, hospital administrators, physicians, and allied health professionals, among others. It will commence in 2026.
Faculty from the National Institutes of Health of UP Manila will conduct all capacity-building modules. These will involve hands-on workshops, lectures, interactive discussions, and coaching and mentoring sessions. The program’s scope includes Research Governance and Institutionalization of Research, Clinical Trial Unit Organization, Research Protocol Development, Research Ethics, Research Project Management and Implementation, Technical Review of Research Proposals, Data Management and Analysis, and Scientific Paper Writing.
