As a testament to its earnest commitment to advance the practice of Neurosurgery in the Philippines and across the Southeast Asian region, the Brain and Spine Institute of Cardinal Santos Medical Center (CSMC) pioneered the world’s first cadaver-based endovascular masterclass dedicated to immersive training in advanced cerebrovascular disease management: the Southeast Asia Stroke Masterclass.
This monumental course in stroke management and surgical training saw the region’s finest in neuroradiology and neurosurgery come together to conduct an intensive, hands-on program to local and international delegates.
The groundbreaking event not only marks a milestone in regional collaboration and surgical education but also heralds the establishment of the Brain and Spine Clinical Cadaveric Training Center at CSMC. Designed to provide a permanent, state-of-the-art facility for advanced anatomical dissection and technique refinement, the lab serves as a regional hub for ongoing neurosurgical and spine training in the region—further cementing CSMC’s role as a leader in elevating standards of care in the neurosciences across Southeast Asia.
