The Cardinal Santos Medical Center’s Department of Rehabilitation Center is one of the premiere rehabilitation centers in the Philippines. It is staffed by some of the Philippines’ foremost physiatrists, and complemented with a full-staff of physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech language pathologists. The Department uses state-of-the-art technology featuring the In-Motion Robotic therapy for treatment of neurological problems such as stroke and brain and spinal cord injuries – the only one in the Philippines and Asia! Aside from traditional machines used for rehabilitation services, we also have the Biodex Deweighing System, Balance Master, and Nintendo Wii-assisted programs.
The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine offers comprehensive rehabilitation services including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. It specializes in the treatment of neurological cases (such as stroke and brain and spinal cord injuries) and musculoskeletal cases (such as neck and low back pains, sprains/strains, tendonitis, and arthritis). Post-operative patients who underwent procedures such as back surgeries, hip or knee replacements, or brain surgeries are provided with a comprehensive treatment and rehabilitation program. A team of highly skilled physiatrists provide the best patient care and formulate a rehabilitation program which will be best effective for every patient. We offer discount packages of 6 physical or occupational treatment sessions for non-senior citizen patients.
Electrodiagnostic testing (EMG-NCV) is also available at the Department. This is a peripheral nerve and muscle test which helps the doctor determine and prognosticate if problems such as weakness, numbness, and neck or low back pains arise. This is conducted by our team of competent electromyographers and the results are available within 20 minutes after the test.
