Minimally Invasive Surgery Training Center

The Minimally Invasive Surgery Training Center is one of Asia’s MIS Facilities on advanced surgery and the first of its kind in the Philippines.

The Minimally Invasive Surgery Training Center is one of Asia’s MIS Facilities on advanced surgery and the first of its kind in the Philippines. It is designed to allow medical experts, here and abroad, access to modern surgical facilities and technology and to enable learning sessions facilitated by internationally acclaimed medical professionals.

 

MIS has improved today’s average health outcome with the promise of less post-operative pain and scarring, shorter hospital stays, faster recovery time, and better quality of life. It has gained popularity as a preferred treatment option over traditional surgery.

 

The MIS Center will provide a virtual learning environment leveraging cutting-edge facilities, systems, and technology. It is the only facility in the country that can transmit live video feed surgery from CSMC to any part of the country.

 

The center takes pride in its world-class amenities, equipment, and faculty of medical experts fully capable of facilitating training programs in the different surgical fields.

 

It is the first institution wholly dedicated to advocating and contributing to the development of MIS in the country.

Dry Laboratory

The Dry Lab uses virtual simulation in a risk-free environment. Trainees will develop basic and advanced endosurgical skills which includes eye-hand coordination skills, intracorporeal knot-typing, dissection and suturing.

Skills Laboratory

The Skills Lab will house eight state-of-the-art operating workstations consisting of endolapa-roscopy systems with high-resolution imaging, operative microscopes, and robotic devices for surgical practice on live tissues of animals.

Lecture Room

The Lecture Room can accommodate 60 trainees at a time. It will be used for lectures and interactive discussions in a classroom setting.

This is a two-day program offering an extensive overview of Laparoscopy using lectures, video libraries, pelvic trainers, live surgeries, and hands-on exercises on live porcine models to give the trainee experience in using Laparoscopic skills. It is designed to give the surgeon the basic knowledge and skills to perform Basic Laparoscopy.
