Bone Mineral Densitometry Unit

A Bone Density Test, also called a DXA (Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry), tests the bone mineral density (BMD) to diagnose osteoporosis that can lead to bone fractures. The Bone Densitometry Unit acquired the state-of-the-art Hologic Discovery TM BMD machine, which can also be used in children. The machine is also capable of performing body composition analysis to determine the body’s ratio of fat leans mass.

Cardinal Santos Medical Center is the first in the Philippines to offer a package combining Bone Densitometry, Vertebral Fracture Analysis, Risk Factor Assessment for falls and fractures, and an Integrated Exercise Regimen.
