The CSMC Hand Center recognizes the importance of hand mobility and function. Composed of expert physicians who accomplished specialized training in hand care, the CSMC Hand Center offers comprehensive treatments and services from the fingers to the upper extremities.
The Hand Center exists for the purpose of providing appropriate and timely care of the problems and injuries of the hands and upper extremity, with the end in view of early restoration of function. Whether due to injury, inflammation or infection, congenital defects or inflammatory arthritis or tendinitis, swellings, and tumors, the Center is equipped with the most current technology and expertise to treat these disorders, whether they involve the skin, the tendons, the nerves, the arteries and veins, or the bones and joints.

In the CSMC Hand Center, hand rehabilitation includes long-term management. Doctors keep track of the patients’ progress from surgery up to their rehab sessions. The rehabilitation team consists of rehab specialists, therapists, and doctors who underwent specialized training for hand care and rehabilitation. The team provides emotional, social, and vocational support to the patient. These are all essential for efficient and effective hand rehabilitation.
Working in tandem with other specialists, especially the Rehabilitation Medicine (Hand Therapy) and Rheumatology, we all recognize the invaluable purpose of the hand and upper extremity in our daily activities of work and play, and thus, the productivity and enjoyment of life. CSMC cannot emphasize enough how big of a role the hands play. It is with this great importance and concern that the Hand Center stands now.
