Lymphedema is the swelling in one or more extremities that results from impaired flow of the lymphatic system. Symptoms of lymphedema include swelling in one or more extremities. The swelling may range from mild to severe and disfiguring.
The gold standard for lymphedema treatment is manual drainage by trained therapist, Along with this, patients are also taught certain exercises to facilitate lymph flow and proper skin care to prevent infections.
This treatment program is available at Cancer Center’s newest Lymphedema Clinic, located at the HOPE Consultation Room, lower ground floor of the main hospital building.
